Staff Member Skills Tab – editing existing records, assigning proficiencies and certificates (documents) to a Skill
Skill Proficiencies are used to determine additional detail of the Skill. For example, a certificate number on the relevant Skill, or the level of the qualification.
Proficiencies can be assigned to and edited on existing Skill records, or certificates (documents) can be uploaded and associated to a Skill record by clicking on the edit icon, please see below.
Step 1 – Select "Skills" from the drop down menu.

--Step 2- Select the edit icon infront of the "Skill".

The selected Skill’s details will then be displayed as per the example below. The Start Date and End Date, Location and Proficiency can be edited/added here by follwoing the steps.

Step 3 – Edit the "Start Date" and "End Date" of the Skill by typing in the dates or selecting the calendar icon to choose a new date. Use the Location drop-down menu to update the Location of the Skill if required. The Locations that display for selection will be any Location that is either the principal site of the staff member or below it within the hierarchy in accordance with the Location of the Skill.
Step 4 – Add a "Proficiency" to the Skill by typing the details into the Proficiency field if required.
Step 5 – Select ‘OK’ to save the updates to the Skill.
Please note: To upload a certificate or document to a Skill, users should follow these steps after selecting the edit icon in front of the skill:
Step 6- Select "Choose file".

Step 7- Select the required file to upload from a folder on your device.
Step 8- Select "Open".

Step 9- Once opened you can upload the file to your "Skills".

Step 10- When the process is complete, a validation message will show with the message below.

Step 11- Select "Ok".
Step 12 – Select "Ok".
Please note: NEXTRA will accept documents in the following formats:
Word, Excel, JPEG, Notepad, PDF, and PowerPoint.
The Skill record will then display the uploaded document.

Uploaded documents can be viewed by selecting the View icon, and when selected the document will download on screen for you to select and view.
Uploaded documents can be deleted from the staff member’s Skill record using the bin icon, however it is NEXTRA’s recommendation that documents are NOT deleted for audit history purposes. Documents should only be deleted if they are added to a staff member’s ‘Skill’ record in error.
